摘 要：本文的重点是中国古典园林的历史渊源和独有的特色，用了很多笔墨在此处，意在让现代人从文中感受历史园林的韵味。手法上运用对比手法，通过表现西方园林和日本园林与中国园林的不同之处，突出中国园林独有的魅力和不可取代的地位，并且分析了目前景园设计的不足，指出当前存在的问题是与不能很好的继承传统园林精神。最后呼吁设计者们不要忘记历史而一味的西化，这是文章的初衷，也是之所以用大量篇幅描述古典园林的目的所在。
